The use of fuel oil mixed with 20 percent palm oil has been tested in a number of mass transportation vehicles since March 2018. In Indonesia, trials are conducted on railroad locomotives. This was done with the intensive supervision of joint team from ITB and BPPT led by Expert Staff of Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Dadan Kusdiana.Trial on PT Kereta Api Indonesia\'s locomotive engine was done since March 2018 and will end in August 2018. Another trials is also being developed to test B20 usage on heavy equipments and machineries used in mining industry.These closely observerd tests expected to eradicate indicated negative impact on B20 usage. In the future, according to Dadan Kusdiana, it is expected that there will be no doubt for those who are recommended to use biofuels.On Friday (5/18/2018) the Expert Staff of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources as well as Chairman of the B20 Test Team on Railways, Dadan Kusdiana performed some thorough check in UPTD Depo Locomotive Besar A Kertapati PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Regional Division III Palembang.According to Dadan, the use of 20 percent biodiesel in transportation means machine is the first in the world. In the trial, Dadan generally concludes the B20 is safe to use. The conclusion is based on technical studies of the machines being tested.\`If B20 can be used in land transportation operations, it can help minimize pure diesel fuel usage in the future and maximize the absorption of national palm oil production which reach 38 million tons per year, part of which is export-oriented,\` said Dadan as quoted by Antara.The use of B20 for engine means of transportation should be supported by all parties and society since it does not affect the performance of the engine and more environmentally friendly compared to the use of pure diesel or B0. The mixed use of B20 with the diesel type of fuel, which is technically safe for all machines, is expected to be supported by all parties and f society the in effect will boost absorption of national oil palm production by domestic market and in turn will make the price independent on the international market.The machinery expert of Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) Dr Iman K Reksowardojo stated that the use of 20 percent biodiesel fuel or B20 for transportation means machine needs to be supported by all parties and society. \`The acceptance of biodiesel fuel B20 by all parties and society, in addition to stimulating the national oil palm industry, can also help the government save billions of dollars on solar imports expenditure,\` said Iman.
