THE government has solid stance on implementing the expanded B20 mandatory program, including on its rule enforcement to build effective order.

PUTRAJAYA: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has challenged Malaysia to emulate Indonesia\'s move to introduce a higher biodiesel mandate-the B20 biodiesel fuel-by 2020 and become the world\'s top biodiesel-producing country.

THE government is planning to speed up use of fuel with 30 percent bio content (B30).

THAILAND is going to implement policy to use biodiesel in power plants and heavy vehicles in order to reduce 190.000 metric ton palm oil surplus. National News Bureau reported that the national palm oil policy committee is going to help reduce the 190,000-metric-ton palm oil surplus by diverting 160,000 tons towards biodiesel production that will then be used for electricity production at the Ratchaburi and Bangpakong Power Plants. Additionally, the committee is calling for uptake of B20 in large vehicles and Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, a Thailand energy company, will begin to distribute the fuel.

MALAYSIA will implement B10 program starting from 1 December 2018 and will make it mandatory from February 2019.

The Government has decided to reduce the number of fuel terminals to blend biodiesel 20% (B20) from 112 to 25 locations.

BIOFUEL producers are expecting government to make it mandatory for biodiesel to have a bio-content of at least 30 percent by early next year as crude palm oil stocks are available and producers are ready.

USE of fuel with 20 percent biodiesel content (B2) in Indonesia is projected to reach 1.6 million tons by the end of this year.
