FOREIGN Minister Retno LP Marsudi met Dutch Foreign Minister Stephanus (Stef) Abraham Blok to pave the way for an acceptable solution over the sustainable palm oil in European Union countries.

The joint mission of the Council of Palm Oil Producing Countries (CPOPC) visited Brussels to convey their disappointment and to fight the delegated act put forward by the European Commission. Indonesian Coordinating Economic Minister Darmin Nasution said at a press conference that Indonesia will review relationship with the EU as a whole, as well as its member states.

EUROPEAN Union adopted Renewable Energy Directive (RED) II which mandates levels of renewable energy use within the EU.

COORDINATING Economic Minister Darmin Nasution led Indonesian delegation to Brussels, 8-9 April 2019, in a joint mission with Council of Palm Oil Producing Countries (CPOPC) to discuss palm oil with EU representatives. On a press release, (8/4/20190), Darmin said the mission is aimed to respond to the delegated act adopted by the EU which categorizes palm oil as a vegetable oil posing a higher risk of deforestation than other vegetable oils.
