A deep understanding on the national palm oil industry is seen to be necessary to avoid misperception as too many negative campaigns against the industry. This is also essential for the press and netizens who has significant role in distributing information to public.In order to encourage awareness and gain deep understanding on the industry, Indonesian Journalist Association (PWI) in collaboration with Indonesian Palm Oil Association (Gapki) organized a workshop in Novotel Hotel, Surabaya, Thursday (19/7/2018).Secretary of PWI East Java, Eko Pamuji expected this workshop can be a means to expand and improve knowledge of palm oil and its contribution to national economic development.Attendees at the workshop included General Secretary of Gapki Lakshmi Sidharta, Secretary of the Centre for Information and Public Realtion of Airlangga University lmron Mawardi, and Director of Warta Ekonomi Muhamad lhsan. ***
