The use of biodiesel in the country has contributed positively in suppressing the import of diesel fuel. The use of biodiesel that is supported by Indonesian Oil Palm Estate Fund (BPDPKS) is able to save state budget up to Rp30 trillion.According to Director of Fund Distribution BPDPKS Edi Wibowo since the implementation of B20 mandatory program in 2015 to April 2018, the utilization of B20 can reduce the import of diesel types up to 5.88 million kilo liters.The mandatory program B20 is the name for biodiesel mixture of diesel and 20% biofuels. \`The distribution of biodiesel supported by the palm oil funds of 5.88 million liters resulted in savings of foreign exchange of Rp 30 trillion in August 2015 to April 2018,\` said Edi.The biodiesel mandatory program aslo contributes to the reduction of diesel import by about 3 million kilo liters per year. Thus, state budget saving can reach Rp14, 83 trillion per year for saving in about 3 million kilo liters diesel fuel import.This year the government gradually starts to implement mandatory biodiesel utilization on trains starting with the use of B5. It will also expand the biodiesel mandatory program to the non-PSO sector starting from the mining industry sector with the use of B15.The expansion is expected to increase biodiesel consumption this year by about 3.2 million kilo liters to 3.5 million kilo liters. If this is can be accomplished, there will be a potential reduction of diesel imports to 3.5 million kilo liters this year. ***
